Battle Of The Divas! Dolly Parton 'Fuming' After Katy Perry's Bizarre Grammys Tribute

Dolly Parton is “fuming” after she believes Katy Perry tried to upstage her during the legendary singer’s tribute at the 2019 Grammy Awards, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

“Katy tried to make it her own. It was Dolly’s night to shine, and Katy should have respected that,” a backstage production insider told Radar of Perry, 34, who opened up the tribute with a much more subdued Kasey Musgraves by covering the 73-year-old icon’s classic hit “Here You Come Again.”

Perry tried to add her own spin to it, which did not sit well with fans — or Parton herself!

“Dolly let the producers have it, because that was not the performance Katy gave during rehearsals,” the source said. “When she came out making all those weird hand gestures and singing out of pitch, everyone was like, ‘What?!’”

Though Parton was put off by Perry’s rendition, the source told Radar that the “Dark Horse” star didn’t apologize for anything.

“Katy said she was just trying to stand out, and she didn’t want to be just another background singer for Dolly,” the source claimed. “But that is what she was there to do!”
