Bradley Cooper teases Lady Gaga reunion for A Star Is Born special show
Bradley Cooper has revealed plans to reunite with Lady Gaga for a special A Star Is Born one-night event and, frankly, it sounds pretty amazing.
The pair earned Oscar nominations and critical acclaim for their performances as Ally and Jack in the romantic drama, which was directed by Bradley, 44, himself.
It’s only been a couple of months since they teamed up to promote the flick but Bradley is already thinking about reuniting with Gaga.
Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday, Bradley said they wouldn’t tour the music in A Star Is Born, but added: ‘You know what I thought would be really cool to do maybe one night, is do a live reading of the movie, of the script, and sing all the songs as you’re reading the script at The Hollywood Bowl or something.’
Erm yes, get us tickets ASAP.
The last we saw Bradley and Gaga together, they were in the midst of an emotional performance of their Grammy-winning single, Shallow, on the Oscars stage in February.
Recalling the nerve wracking experience, Bradley admitted: ‘The Oscars was pretty terrifying.
‘It was crazy. I actually wasn’t nervous because I worked so hard and Lady Gaga’s so supportive. But it was terrifying, absolutely, because I’m not a singer and I didn’t sing before this movie so it was really crazy.’
He continued: ‘But it just shows that if you do work really hard and you’re with supportive people that you can do things that you never dreamed was possible. Because I do think with the Oscar thing, people will never watch the movie again if this is bad. Like, “they can’t do it”.
‘It was one of those things where this has to be great. It felt great.’
Their Oscars performance wasn’t without controversy though, as Gaga was accused of getting too close to Bradley while his girlfriend, Irina Shayk, watched from the audience.
However, Lady Gaga defended the performance, explaining that the intimacy was needed to give justice to the song.
She previously said on Jimmy Kimmel Live: ‘From a performance perspective, it was so important to both of us that we were connected the entire time. When you’re singing love songs, that’s how you want people to feel. I’m an artist! I guess we did a good job. Fooled ya!’
