Joy Behar shuts down Meghan McCain’s ‘hissy fit’ on ‘The View’
Fans of daytime TV catfights took a little time to enjoy “The View” Monday.
Meghan McCain has joked about how she “tries to hate” her “The View” co-host Joy Behar — but claims she just can’t.
That status might be in need of an update after the verbal sparring partners’ heated clash during Monday’s episode.
McCain appeared to interrupt Behar’s introduction of the Hot Topic at hand (Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s presidential run), spurring Behar to snap: “Can I get through this, please?”
Behar proceeded to ask for co-hosts Abby Huntsman and Sunny Hostin for their takes on the Democratic senator’s “temperament.”
A visibly miffed McCain, who prides herself on her “political commentary” skills, refused to be silenced.
“Can I say something now?” she asked, her voice ratcheting up an octave. “Is that OK, Joy? Do I have permission to speak now on Amy Klobuchar? We’re all good?”
“Yes, you may, now that I’m finished,” Behar said, but McCain stopped short of making her point, appearing to react to a look Behar was giving her to say, “Nope, by all means, keep going, Joy.”
“No, if you’re going to have a hissy fit, we can’t continue,” Behar chastised McCain, eliciting some nervous audience laughter.
McCain, red-faced and huffy, stewed silently with her arms crossed throughout the next segment.
