Runaway June Score First Country Airplay Top 10 By All-Female Group Since 2005

Runaway June‘s latest single, “Buy My Own Drinks,” has reached the Top 10 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart, becoming the first song by an all-female group to hit the top 10 since 2005.

“Buy My Own Drinks” also becomes Runaway June’s first top 10 on the chart.

The track is the lead single from the trio’s latest album, Blue Roses. The album debuted at No. 5 on the Country Album Sales Chart and at No. 36 on the Top Country Albums chart.

“Buy My Own Drinks” climbed from 12th position to 10th on the September 7-dated chart, rising 2% to 21.7 million in format audience.

“It feels so good to be able to swing open the door wider for female artists,” Naomi Cooke told Billboard.

The last single to reach the top 10 on the Country Airplay charts by an all-female group was all the way back in 2005, when SheDAISY‘s “Don’t Worry About a Thing” reached No. 7.
