Coronation Street fans accuse Rovers Return landlady Jenny Bradley of paying her staff BELOW minimum wage after Emma Broker earned just £25 for 4 hours work

Landlady Jenny Bradley revealed she pays her staff just £6.25-an-hour.

She made the revelation after catching Gemma Winter emerge from the cellar with Chesney and leaving the pub unattended.

Gemma left Emma Brooker in charge for four hours so she could disappear and have fun with the kebab shop worker… but Emma went home, so there was no one to man the fort – or clean up the empties.

Fuming Jenny opened the till and handed Emma just £25, in cash, for her hard work.

Fans accused Jenny of underpaying her bar staff by £1.11 – as the national minimum wage for someone 21-24 is £7.38. However, Emma is only 20 – so Jenny isn't breaking any rules, and Emma's getting a good deal… minimum wage for someone her age is actually £5.90.

However, Corrie fans were quick to accuse Jenny of short-changing Emma and took to Twitter to make their feelings known.

One wrote: "Will HMRC be paying The Rovers a visit? Jenny paying cash to Emma for 4 hours work is a bit naughty. Full investigation required. #coronationstreet".

Another said: "£25 for four hours? .. That's not even minimum wage. Tight gits."

A third wrote: "only £6.25 an hour working in the rovers! hopefully it's unlimited hot pot and free Newton and Ridley to make up the shortfall in cash!"

A fourth quipped: "@SallyAnMatthews only paying poor Emma £6.25 per hour, poor girl #corrie"
A fifth added: "OMG! Can't believe Jenny only pays her staff £6.25 an hour. how can they live off that?"

A sixth said: "Jenny shouldn't be paying wages from the till! #coronationstreet".

A seventh fan said: "£6.25? Hardly worth getting out of bed for! #coronationstreet"
