Kate Connor fears Carla Connor will die after shocking discovery in Corrie
Kate Connor (Faye Brookes) has finally thawed towards Carla Connor (Alison King) over Rana Habeeb’s (Bhavna Limachia) death, but has she done it in time to save her in Coronation Street?
Carla is in a seriously bad way, she’s gone on the run believing that everyone is out to get there, that she is being spied on and that Rana is still alive.
Up until now Kate has turned her back on her, believing Carla to be the reason Rana is dead. But a shock discovery led Kate to learn the truth.
She was handed Rana’s personal effects and inside the bag discovered her phone. After switching it on she found a whole list of voicemails from her sister, and quickly realised just how bad things had got – Carla had truly come to believe Rana was still alive and had been begging her in each message to call her back.
Kate realised it meant her sister really was mentally ill and needed their help – and immediately showed her findings to her dad and Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).
She became just as frightened as Peter for Carla’s well-being and resolved to do what needed to be done to find her.
When Imran (Charlie De Melo) arrived in the pub Kate showed him the phone, but he wasn’t having any of it – after listening to Carla’s groveling apology and saying ‘everyone is out to get me,’ instead of interpreting it as paranoia, Imran decided it was guilt.
He even concluded her breakdown had been triggered by guilt, showing no compassion whatsoever. He also managed to glean that the roof collapse was sabotage, and now his burning hatred included Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) too.
But now that Kate knows the truth about Carla, will she finally help Peter find her and bring her home? Or will they be too late?
