Nat Geo Wild Sends ‘Howie Mandel’s Animals Doing Things’ To BarkFest – TCA
National Geographic has set Howie Mandel’s Animals Doing Things for a return, leading off with coverage of Nat Geo Wild’s fifth annual BarkFest weekend in April. The announcement was part of Nat Geo’s Wild’s returning and new program reveals at the TCA winter press tour in Pasadena.
The fifth annual BarkFest weekend is a celebration of dogs and the people who own them. Mandel, who has combined his comedy with funny animal videos for the show, will present more of the same from BarkFest. Also planned are episodes titled “Unlikely Animal Friends,” “Born This Way,” “Alpha Dogs” and “Dr. Oakley, Yukon Vet.”
The Nat Geo Wild slate includes a new, live event series from the creators of Live PD called Animal ER Live. The show follows real and dramatic behind-the-scenes stories of urgent animal cases at six of the top animal hospitals across the country in real time, beginning Saturday, March 30.
Additionally, Nat Geo Wild’s slate also includes several new series that are slated to premiere in July 2019, including Red Zone Dogs (working title), which follows dog behavior specialist Matt Beisner as he works with the most dangerous, most aggressive, and most misunderstood dogs in the country; and Out There With Jack Randall, a new series that follows former Steve Irwin apprentice and zoologist Randall as he treks into the wild to teach others about anacondas, crocodiles and other amazing animals.
