The Walking Dead season 10 spoilers: Rick Grimes to team up with Michonne after huge hint?
The Walking Dead fans weren’t thrilled when it was announced Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) would be taken out of the show.
Although at first it was thought he would be killed off in some heroic last stand, he was instead hugely wounded before being flown away in a helicopter – for some reason still yet to be determined.
While this event has left the other characters in the show a little lost, they have continued on their journey through AMC’s post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Since then it has also been announced Michonne (Danai Gurira) will be leaving the show once-and-for-all – and, similarly, it is unknown whether she will live or die in her final moments on The Walking Dead.
However, with Rick’s legacy continuing in three TV movies, it is very likely the duo could meet up once again in the future.
And this may have been teased in the latest The Walking Dead Onslaught news, which features both Michonne and Rick.
The VR game, which is scheduled to release this autumn, will allow fans to play as their favourite characters – including Rick and Michonne.
The game’s trailer even shows off some decapitated zombies alongside Rick’s signature gun, and Michonne’s katana.
Although it has been rumoured the pair would be reunited once again for one final battle, could this be the biggest hint towards it being true so far?
The game’s press release reads: “The Walking Dead Onslaught invites players to assume the roles of their favourite survivors from the TV series, struggling against the relentless walker threat while confronting both the horrors and humanity of this apocalyptic world.
“With an exclusive original story, visceral real-motion melee and ranged combat, player progression and a full campaign mode, AMC and Survios deliver the most immersive The Walking Dead experience yet.”
But if this new story does have something to do with the TV show’s narrative, Rick and Michonne will also be with other characters featured in the trailer.
Daryl Dixon’s (Norman Reedus) crossbow can also be spotted in the trailer – but could this mean he will join Rick and Michonne for any meet-ups?
Meanwhile it was recently announced Abraham Ford actor Michael Cudlitz would be returning to the show in season ten – but not as fans know him.
Michael will be returning to the show as a director of an episode.
Michael previously arrived as a director in season nine as he helmed the production of the mid-season finale titled “Stradivarius”.
Speaking out about the announcement, Michael wrote on Twitter: “Headed to Atl to direct my second ep. of #twd tomorrow. Could not be more excited.”
Fans were elated with the news, with one sending encouragement, saying: “The first one you directed was phenomenal.
“Angela Kang has turned that show around 360 and it’s more intense in my opinion. Good luck!! Love @TheWalkingDead and @TheKidsABC.”
The Walking Dead season 10 premieres on AMC and FOX in October 2019.
