BREAKING: Firefighters scrambled as massive London blaze ‘ESCALATES’ – explosion heard
London Fire Brigade (LFB) told Daily Star Online that crews had been battling the blaze at a warehouse in Garman Road, Tottenham, near the North Circular road after the inferno broke out earlier today.
Firefighters had been outside the building, but an official at the LFB control room confirmed 10 fire engines had been called after the blaze reportedly “escalated”.
Witnesses also claimed to have heard explosions coming from the building at about 11.15pm on Thursday.
An LFB spokeswoman said: “10 fire engines and around 70 firefighters are tackling a fire in an adjacent warehouse to the blaze tackled by firefighters earlier today in Garman Road.”
Crews have been at the site throughout the day in a bid to extinguish “deep-seated pockets of fire”.
A large section of the roof is currently ablaze and is behind where the original fire started.
Stunning footage shows thick plumes of black smoke and flames rising from the building as firefighters valiantly battle to put the fire out.
It comes almost 24 hours after crews first raced to the site after a nearby single-storey building was engulfed in flames.
