Man shot and killed outside Bronx building where he allegedly killed 2 women in 2004
A Bronx man was shot and killed outside a housing project where he had strangled two women to death 15 years ago, police sources said Monday.
Jerodd Watkins, 38, was blasted in the head at about 7:20 p.m. as he sat in his car outside the Murphy Consolidated Houses, a housing project on East 178th Street near Boston Road, cops said.
Watkins was arrested in 2004 for killing two women inside the building, the sources said.
Watkins and an accomplice killed 32-year-old Diana Almestica in August of that year because she owed them money for crack, sources told The Post at the time. They left her partially naked body in the stairwell of the building in an attempt to make the killing appear like a sexual assault.
Eight months prior to her killing, Watkins strangled 34-year-old Jeanine Faulmino to death in the building and left her naked body in another stairwell.
Watkins, who lived in a nearby building on West Farms Square Plaza, was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital after being shot on Monday and pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made in the slaying.
