George Michael’s former lover Fadi Fawaz has reportedly been living in a £49-a-night budget hotel after being chucked out of the late singer’s £5million house.

Unemployed Fadi is said to have swapped his glitzy life of private jets and five-star hotels for a single 300sq ft room in a central London Travelodge.

The 46-year-old former celebrity hairdresser checked into the hotel in Covent Garden after he allegedly ‘went beserk’ and smashed in the windows of his ex’s exclusive Regent’s Park property last month.

He was arrested on suspicion of aggravated criminal damage after causing ‘significant’ damage inside the home.

George Michael’s family mounted a legal bid and had Fadi removed from the property.

Lebanese Fadi had been squatting at the home since his lover’s death on Christmas Day in 2016.

He has been keeping his head down since moving into the Travelodge, only emerging for a cigarette or when housekeeping staff need to make his bed, The Sun reports.

Bizarrely, when the paper approached him outside the budget hotel he flat-out denied being George Michael’s ex.

He told the reporter: ‘I’m not Fadi. Sorry to disappoint you. It’s so tragic what happened to George. It’s a terrible loss. But I don’t really know him. In fact I’ve never met him.’

A picture posted on Instagram by Fadi showed a smashed window and an offensive gesture. George Michael’s former lover is claimed to have caused the damage, an allegation he denies

Fadi – who was left nothing in the late Wham! star’s £97m will – also denied living at the hotel and claimed he only visited to charge his mobile phone.

He dated George from 2012 until his death, and was the one to discover his body. He claimed at the time his death was suicide.

But in March 2017 a coroner ruled the Faith singer died of natural causes and had dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver.

While squatting at the property, Fadi became a ‘vampire recluse’ who only left at night, according to a Daily Star source.

His family have tried to urge him to seek mental health treatment.
