Subtropical storm Alberto makes landfall in Florida

Year’s first named Atlantic storm has passed the coast at Laguna Beach with winds of 72km/h, US meteorologists say.

    Subtropical storm Alberto has made landfall in Florida.

    It is expected to bring heavy rain and flash flooding in four states across the United States.

    Thousands of people are in shelters.

    A day earlier, another weather system swept through the coastal area of the state of Maryland in the northeast.
