AJ Pritchard: Strictly pro ‘enjoyed fling with Daisy Lowe’ after meeting on BBC show

AJ Pritchard, 24, reportedly became very close to model, Daisy Lowe, 30, when she was competing on Strictly Come Dancing three years ago with professional partner, Aljaz Skorjanec.

The brunette beauty is believed to have “hit it off” with the dancer, despite not dancing with each other on the BBC One programme.

Their apparent “fling” has only now emerged three years later but it’s thought their fellow co-stars knew what was going on at the time, reports The Sun.

A source told the publication: “They’ve never discussed it publicly but it’s gone down in Strictly folklore among the crew.

“Over the years lots of Strictly stars have grown close and it usually comes out straight away.

“AJ and Daisy really hit off when they were both on the show even though they weren’t dancing together.”

Gavin Rossdale’s daughter and Aljaz were eliminated in week eight, while AJ and his celebrity partner, Claudia Fragapane, made it to the semi-finals.

Daisy, who is now dating singer Jack Penate, denied she was ever romantically linked to AJ to The Sun.

During the series, Daisy split from her boyfriend of five months, Bradley ‘Frankie’ Wade, and she later said commitments to the show made it impossible to sustain a relationship.

AJ is now in a relationship with Abbie Quinnen, who has been seen supporting her beau during this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Express.co.uk has contacted Daisy Lowe and AJ Pritchard’s representatives for comment.

Meanwhile, AJ is currently preparing for this weekend’s routine with celebrity partner, Saffron, 19.

The pair will be performing their couple’s choice dance on Saturday night, and AJ said he was “excited” about it already.

The Strictly favourites have chosen contemporary out of the options, which included street/commercial and theatre/jazz.

AJ, whose brother Curtis Pritchard appeared in Love Island this year, uploaded a photo from rehearsals with Saffron yesterday.

Alongside a snap of him and his dance partner, plus choreographers Amy Tomlinson and Lukas McFarlane, AJ wrote: “…So Excited Now… Awesome Day #CouplesChoice @bbcstrictly @lukas_mcfarlane @amytomtom @saffronbarker.”

Last weekend, AJ and Saffron performed a Paso Doble to song, Everybody Wants To Rule The World, by Lorde from The Hunger Games during Movie Week.

Anneka Rice and Kevin Clifton were voted out of the competition by the judges on Sunday’s results show, after landing in the dance-off against David James and Nadiya Bychkova.

But it may be time-up for the latter this weekend, after finding himself in the dance-off two weeks in a row.

Kelvin Fletcher is the current favourite to win this year’s series, followed closely behind by Michelle Visage.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Kelvin has headed the betting from Week One and it looks as though someone will have to do something pretty spectacular to beat him to the Glitterball Trophy this year.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday on BBC One.
