Alex Jones, 43, told her fans “she never thought she’d be this blonde” in a behind-the-scenes picture on social media today. The One Show presenter showcased her new blonder locks on Instagram this morning ahead of a photoshoot for fashion brand Nobody’s Child.

The BBC star, who is naturally brunette, has gradually been getting blonder and blonder over the years.

She, no doubt, fancied a change, following months of lockdown restrictions which meant a visit to the hair salon was on the cards.

Changing up her look, the mum-of-two has dyed her short bob-length hair a light shade of blonde.

Showcasing her new hairdo online today, she thanked her hairdresser for his handiwork.

Alex snapped a selfie in the mirror of an elevator ahead of her fashion shoot and shared the picture with her 255,000 followers.

She captioned the snap: “Thanks @lewis_pallett for the cut and colour.

“Never thought I’d be this blonde.”

The presenter was later seen in her dressing room and with her hair and makeup done as she told her followers she was ready for work.

“Show ready,” she wrote and tagged “@nobodyschild” into the post.

Alex, who shares two sons – Teddy, three, and Kit, one – with her husband Charlie Thomson, recently returned to work following a relaxing family getaway.

Sharing pictures from her break online, she revealed it was possibly their “best holiday yet”.

The Welsh-born TV star told fans she was “grateful” for the two week trip which saw her regularly visit the beach with her young children.

A snap captioned “reunited at last” seemed to show Alex’s son with his grandparents.
