Alison Hammond has called Ruth Langsford "a beauty" on social media after allegedly replacing her on This Morning.

The 45 year old, who recently channelled pop diva Kylie Minogue as she recreated her iconic video, took to Instagram to comment on the popular TV star's gorgeous looks.

Ruth, who has been part of the This Morning family for years, had shared a snap of herself wearing a navy jumper with leopard print stars printed all over it.

The photo showed the 60 year old wearing eyeshadow, mascara and lipstick as she smiled for the camera and posed in the shoot for QVC.

Amid the reports that she will be hosting This Morning instead of Ruth and Eamonn, Alison commented underneath the picture, writing: "What a beauty," followed by a red heart emoji.

Ruth, who recently appeared to make a dig at Alison and said she and Eamonn Holmes "put the work in", failed to reply to the compliment and fans noticed.

It was reported earlier this week that Alison and Dermot O'Leary, 47, would be replacing Ruth and her 60 year old husband on the popular ITV programme.

It's reported the pair will instead be moved to presenting over the summer holidays while Holly Willoughby, 39, and Phillip Schofield, 58, are away on their six-week-long break.

An insider revealed to Mirror Online: “They have real warmth. It's time for a change and they are perfect.

“Eamonn is pretty furious and everyone feels for him and Ruth, they are well liked on the team, but sometimes tough decisions have to be made.”

A spokesperson for This Morning said: “We have a stellar presenting line up on This Morning in Holly & Phillip and Eamonn & Ruth. Any additions to this line up will be announced in due course."

Ruth is expected to continue on as part of the Loose Women panel, where she has proven hugely popular with viewers.
