Billie Piper dazzles in a silver dress as she leads the glamour at the red carpet gala screening of her film Rare Beasts alongside beau Johnny Lloyd

Billie Piper shined bright in a shimmering silver dress on Friday as she attended the Rare Beasts gala screening with her partner Johnny Lloyd in London. 

The actress, 38, looked sensational in her strapless outfit as she marked her directorial debut with the new film at the Everyman Broadgate theatre.

Billie completed the futuristic look with silver sequin heels and rocked complementing silver eye shadow as she lead the glamorous arrivals.

The singer turned thespian styled her honey tresses in a sleek straight hairdo and wore delicate silver earrings as she worked her best angles on the red carpet. 

Her other half sported a black suit which he teamed with a white pinstripe shirt and textured tie. 

Johnny’s highlighted locks were swept back behind his ears, revealing his simple hoop earrings.

Actress Jenna Coleman, 35, arrived at the red carpet extravaganza in a chic floral gown which she paired with Gucci tights and nude platform heels. 

She draped a white handbag over her shoulder and styled her chocolate locks in an effortless wave. 

Emilia Clarke, 35, made an appearance in a demure navy dress dotted with red spots.

Billie directed and stars in as single mum Mandy in Rare Beasts, who is navigating her failed love story with Pete [Leo Bill].

The star’s character is said to be a modern woman in a crisis who is also trying to raise her son, Larch [Toby Woolf] in the midst of a female revolution.

Mandy is also seen mining the pain of her parents’ separation when she falls upon a troubled man, Pete, who is searching for belonging and ‘restored’ male identity.

Rare Beasts was written back in 2012 when Billie was pregnant with her second son, Eugene, who she shares with her ex husband Laurence Fox.

And although the ‘anti-romantic comedy’ premiering at the Venice Film Festival back in 2019, it has only now been given a release date of May 21.

Billie explained how her thoughts towards the film have changed since she first worked on it, saying she now sees it as being about ‘what it costs to be a woman’ as well as feeling a bit like ‘a mental health journey’.   

It comes after the star revealed she sought therapy to help her recover from the ‘very adult’ situations she found herself in as a teen pop star.

Billie enjoyed meteoric fame as a singer after debut single, Because We Want To, was released when she was just 15.

In The Big Issue’s Letter To My Younger Self, she wrote: ‘I was very often in strange, very adult situations that I wouldn’t subject my own kids to [at the age of] 16

‘I was going through everything a teenager goes through, but very publicly. Therapy has been crucial to my getting better.

‘If you can get your kids any sort of mental health support, get it.’

Billie found success with her debut album Honey To The B in 1998 which was followed by her second album Walk of Life two years later.

The star confirmed in 2003 that she had abandoned her music career in favour of pursuing acting.
