Billy Joel Brings Out Bryan Adams At MSG Show

Billy Joel welcomed out Bryan Adams during the encore of his latest monthly residency performance at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. The duo teamed up to sing “Summer of ’69” and “You May Be Right.”

Joel also performed Aretha Franklin‘s “Respect” as a tribute to the late singing icon. Digital Journal reports that Joel turned the lead vocals over to his longtime percussionist and background singer for the song. He introduced the classic by calling Franklin “one of the greatest singers of all time.” “Respect” was written and recorded by Otis Redding in 1965 and covered by Franklin two years later. It would become her first ever No. 1 song.

At recent shows, Joel has been joined by Joe Elliott of Def Leppard and Bruce Springsteen.
