Blac Chyna Ready for New Beginnings After Attempt to Disqualify Biased Judge Gets Denied

The former star of ‘Rob and Chyna’ gets baptized on her 34th birthday amid her ongoing attempt to appeal the Kardashian-Jenner verdict after losing $108M defamation case.

AceShowbizBlac Chyna is excited to start a new chapter. The former star of “Rob & Chyna” is getting ready to start “new beginnings” after she attempted to disqualify an “extremely biased” judge in the Kardashian-Jenner defamation trial.

The 33-year-old model made use of her Instagram account on Wednesday, May 11 to share a clip of her getting baptized as she marked her 34th birthday. Along with the video, she wrote in the caption, “Born again on my Birthday [folded hands emoji] 5/11/22 #newbeginnings.”

That same day, it’s reported that the jury has weighed in on her claims that a judge in the Kardashian-Jenner trial was “extremely biased.” Upon learning of the accusations, the juror shut down her request to disqualify the Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Gregory W. Alarcon.

According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, the judge ruled that Blac’s attorney did not present any valid reasons to consider the request. The order noted that the decision was not appealable as she filed her motion after she had lost in a jury trial against the Kardashian family.

The peremptory challenge filed by Blac, born Angela Renee White, claimed that Judge Gregory “exhibited an ‘undeniably hostile and extremely biased’ attitude towards her and [her attorney] Ms. [Lynne] Ciani since April 19 and April 20, 2022.” The court documents further noted that the judge’s alleged bias impacted several parts of the case, including “the jury making ‘key liability verdicts in her favor’ ” as well as her being “denied due process with regard to the jury instructions and special verdict form.”

Upon learning of the matter, the Kardashian family’s legal team told TMZ that while Blac and her attorney, Lynne Ciani, might be “upset” about their loss at the trial, “their effort to make a scapegoat of Judge [Gregory] is frivolous, dishonest, and deserving of sanctions.” The attorney went on to note the fact that Blac’s legal team didn’t have an issue like this with the judge until “after the jury found against her client.”

The Kardashian-Jenner clan’s attorney Michael G. Rhode also urged Blac’s “statement of disqualification be stricken, that her request for disqualification be denied.” He added that Blac’s lawyer should “be sanctioned in an amount to be determined in [the family’s] separately served noticed motion.”

The Kardashians scored a legal victory on May 2. The jury decided no damages will be awarded to Blac, who sought over $100 million in damages in her defamation lawsuit against the famous family, as they didn’t find any of the Kardashians’ attempts to cancel the second season of “Rob & Chyna” with their influence.
