Bring Me The Horizon Drops ‘Mantra’

Bring Me The Horizon has released a new track, “Mantra,” their first new music since 2015’s That’s The Spirit. Frontman Oli Sykes premiered the track on BBC Radio 1.

“It just felt like the right song to show people first,” Sykes told the BBC DJ Annie Mac of “Mantra.” “We wanna do heavy in a completely different way. We wanna do catchy in a completely different way.”

Earlier this month posters began surfacing in Europe and the US featuring the question, “Do you wanna start a cult with me?” along with a phone number to call. Those who called reached a recording which said, “Welcome to Mantra. Daniel speaking. Could I take your earth name please?” After a brief pause, Daniel continued: “Your journey with Mantra begins now and I’m pleased to be able to share the begin of your enlightenment with…” before a snippet of music played. There was also a website, joinmantra.org, which teased the date of Tuesday, August 21.

The song will be featured on the band’s upcoming new album, Amo, which will be released on January 11 via RCA/Sony.

Bring Me The Horizon has also announced plans for a tour in support of the new album. The trek will get underway on January 23 in Nashville, Tennessee and will conclude on February 16 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
