Camilla Thurlow looks very different to how Love Island viewers will recall her

She became a reality TV star, last summer.

Yet, although familiar to millions, fans of Love Island may struggle to recognise Camilla Thurlow if they saw her today.

The 27-year-old, from Dumfries in Scotland, has re-invented herself with a brand new look – and showed it off to full effect when she stepped out in central London on Wednesday.

Pictured at the opening of Ecover’s Rubbish Cafe, her trademark blonde hair had been swapped for a more demure look, which consists of dark brown shades and a centre-parted fringe.

She also toned-down the lashings of fake tan to embrace a more natural complexion and ditched the obligatory bikini for floral prints.

Together, the overhaul resulted in a much classier aesthetic and seemed fitting given she was promoting the ‘green’ cause.

Posting an image of herself to Instagram, where she has more than 1million fans, she captioned it:"Tonight I had an exclusive look at the Ecover Rubbish Café in Covent Garden – a new pop-up café where you can pay for your food with plastic rubbish!

"Single-use plastic is something I’ve learnt a lot more about this year, and the efforts we can making to be more mindful about reducing, reusing and recycling."

The post was ‘liked’ more than 28,000 times and generated plenty of comments on her grown-up style and approach.

"You are making such a difference girl!" said one, while another quipped: "Looking good, lady. Much prefer this look."

However, it’s not all change for the Love Island runner-up.

Much to fans’ delight, she’s still together with her boyfriend Jamie Jewitt, whom she famously met on the show.

Aside from romance, Camilla has been busy since leaving the Love Island villa. She participated in a celebrity boxing match for Sport Relief, facing Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton in the ring.

She’s also done extensive work with UK charity Help Refugees, and recently made a trip to the border between Turkey and Syria, where she met with volunteer organisation the White Helmets.
