Charlotte Crosby’s ex Joshua Ritchie brands their relationship ‘toxic’ after she labelled him a ‘f**king toerag’ for signing up to Celebs Go Dating

Charlotte Crosby’s ex boyfriend Joshua Ritchie says their relationship was ‘toxic’ by the time they broke up.

MailOnline revealed Joshua, 25, had signed up for Celebs Go Dating on Thursday, with Charlotte, 29, branding him a ‘f**king toerag’ on Instagram just hours later.

In a new promotional video for the E4 show, the reality star claimed he took himself out of a ‘bad energy’ when the couple split in late November.

‘It started to get toxic’: Charlotte Crosby’s ex boyfriend Joshua Ritchie says their relationship was ‘toxic’ by the time they broke up

He said: ‘This time I am at the agency I am single. I split up with my ex girlfriend. It was getting a bit too much, it started to get toxic so I took myself out of that bad energy and now I am ready to get back on the map and get dating.’

The couple were on the show before, when they sought the help of the dating agency to help them get through arguments.

Joshua continued: ‘I was here last time with Charlotte and the agents gave great advice but unfortunately we couldn’t put it together and we split.’

He went on to enthuse about being ‘a very good laugh’ and bringing ‘a lot to the table’, before grabbing his crotch in the jovial video.

Cheating? It comes as Charlotte said girls have messaged her proof her ex-boyfriend Joshua wasn’t loyal during nights out

Celebs Go Dating’s official Twitter account shared the video with the caption: ‘AGENCY ALERT! Returning to #CelebsGoDating we welcome back @ritchie_joshua, who’s ready to hit the dating scene in 2020!!’

It comes as Charlotte claimed she was sent ‘evidence’ Joshua cheated on her during their two-year relationship.

The reality star said girls had messaged her proof he wasn’t loyal during nights out.

Charlotte announced their break-up last month, and has since shared her feelings with her seven million Instagram followers.

She took to her Stories while enjoying a night out in Dubai with close pal and former co-star Sophie Kasaei, 30, on Friday to say she kept the alleged cheating secret ‘because I cared about that boy’.

Ended things: Charlotte revealed her relationship with Josh had ‘completely broken down’ last month (pictured in January)

‘I need to get this off my chest. This whole two sides to every story, like come on, leave it off will you,’ she added.

‘If you want to go into this two sides to every story. I have got messages, I have got everything. Girls messaging us, all the nights out.

‘I have so much evidence that I have stuck by this boy through all this s**t.

‘Don’t make him look any worse because I kept all this secretive for a reason, because I cared about that boy and I still wanted to be with him.’

Last month, Charlotte revealed their relationship had ‘completely broken down’ but insiders close to the Geordie favourite claimed she was keen to give their romance another shot.

Moving on fast: Charlotte was fuming after her ex-boyfriend Joshua signed up to appear in Celebs Go Dating, just weeks after the couple’s painful split

But after hearing news of Joshua’s appearance on the show, she said: ‘So a bit of a revelation today, I am shocked.

‘Shocked to say the least but when you’re sitting in Dubai and you find out that your ex-boyfriend who you didn’t think was like this at all, is going on Celebs Go Dating.’

She added: ‘I’m not going to f***ing lie right, at one point we were on the verge of getting back and I said “I’ve been asked to do Celebs Go Dating” but obviously I said “No I would never do that”.

‘We’ve only just finished, we were in a two year relationship, we lived together and it’s just wrong” and his words to me were “Do you think I’d ever do that?”

‘And to find out he’s on Celebs Go Dating, wow! Wow! That is all I’ve got to say f***ing wow!’

‘Heartbroken’: Reality star Josh was with the Geordie Shore favourite for two years and moved to Bolton to live with him in August

Close to tears, Charlotte added: ‘I think this is what people must do, they just get with us so that then they can get offered opportunities afterwards.

‘I’ll tell you what, don’t f***ing mention my name once while you’re on that show! Don’t f***ing even speak about me you f***ing little toe rag!’

A source said: ‘Charlotte was left heartbroken after splitting from Josh.

‘The last thing she wants is him going on a TV show dating other women in front of her face – she hoped there would be more respect between them than that.’

And now Charlotte has confirmed her disappointment over Josh signing up for the show, revealing she was offered a spot on the series first but turned it down.

Holiday: Charlotte, who’s currently in Dubai on holiday, expressed her outrage at Josh’s decision to appear on Celebs Go Dating, branding him a ‘f***ing toerag!’

Josh wasted no time in getting to work on the series, and was seen filming scenes in London on Thursday.

In late November, Charlotte posted a statement on Instagram, saying: ‘Me and Josh have decided to part ways.

‘Sadly the relationship seems to have broken down. Hoping we can still remain civil and wish him the best for the future.’

Their split came just months after Charlotte moved to live with Josh in his hometown of Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Since the separation, Charlotte has gone back to live in the Newcastle mansion she previously shared with her parents.

Josh last appeared on Celebs Go Dating alongside ex-Charlotte when they took part in couples’ counselling with agent Anna Williamson.

Charlotte sobbed as she described the difficulties of relocating to Bolton to be with Josh, saying: ‘It’s a big deal and sometimes I don’t think Josh recognises how much a big deal it is. I am moving away from everyone I love.’

The former Love Island star will now return to the series as a single man, this time on the hunt for a new romantic interest.

He joins the likes of This Morning presenter Alison Hammond, TOWIE’s James Lock and Love Island beauty Amy Hart who have all signed up for the show next year.

Amy Childs is also making a return to TV in pursuit of finding a new suitor, as well as EastEnders actor Dean Gaffney and Made in Cheslea’s Olivia Bentley.

MailOnline has contacted Charlotte and Joshua’s representatives for comment.
