Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent praises midwife in emotional message
Brooke Vincent has posted an emotional message about the pressures of being a new mum, a month after she welcomed a baby boy.
The 27-year-old former Coronation Street actress praised the efforts of her midwife in an emotional video on Instagram .
Brooke also posted a series of photos of her adorable son Mexx, who she shares with Premier League footballer Kean Bryan.
With her son now a month old, Brooke decided to heap praise on her midwife, Cheryl, who has helped her through the pregnancy and first weeks of being a new mother.
Captioning the series of snaps, Brooke wrote: "What a journey. I can’t believe how fast, emotional & memorable it’s been.
"Cheryl, You came into our lives and helped us through the best part of it, from the beginning you’ve gone above and beyond for Me & Kean."
In the photos, Brooke is seen cuddling her newborn son as she smiles and looks relaxed and happy as she posed make-up free with Mexx.
Brooke also shared a selfie of before she went into labour, while wearing a hospital gown, as well as a pic from her pregnancy as her midwife checks the baby bump.
Brooke continued: "You’ve always been so professional & honest and we will miss you so much!!
"After a house move, an overdue baby & a couple of clicks of that tens machine, I can honestly say it’s been a pleasure!!!
"Thank you for everything, Me and Kean will be forever grateful to have met you and had you by our sides!!!
"Our own “google” Until next time . Not all hero’s wear capes. Midwifes are just NEXT LEVEL".
It has been quite a week for Brooke as she shared the pressures of being a mum, earlier this week.
She posted on Instagram that she had become tearful after finding she could not fit into 23 of her pre-pregnancy outfits.
Brooke said that she was also planning to enjoy her "first cocktail in 11 months".
In the accompanying pic, Brooke was wearing a watermelon print onesie to which she captioned: "Tonight I was supposed to look completely different, I was supposed to be dressed up, hair and make up done ready to eat some nice food and maybe have my first cocktail in 11 months with Kean.
"Our first time away from Mexx for an hour or two, instead I look like this. I look like this because I naively thought that 4 weeks after my baby I would be in all my old clothes looking exactly like I did before I got pregnant." [sic]
Brooke continued to say that she was upset that she couldn't fit into her old clothes.
She continued: "I thought my jeans would instantly fit and I would just be my “old self” only with my new beautiful baby.
"How wrong I was, I tried 23 outfits on at least, nothing looked right, nothing looked like me and I felt like I was looking at a completely different person, I suppose to a certain extent I now am, I am Mexx’s mum.
"I sat and cried and felt ashamed that I haven’t just been able to pick up where I left off like people seem to do here on Instagram!
"The reason for this post is that even when you’re in this bizarre industry you still get sucked in, you still feel a certain way when you see others posts." [sic]
Brooke then added: "So this was so important for me to say, for all the women who think they should look, act or feel a certain way after a baby DONT! Don’t beat yourself up.
"Do you & if 4/6/8weeks or even a year after giving birth you don’t fit in your old clothes don’t worry, you can always join my club it’s important to be honest because being a new mummy is daunting enough!
"The most important thing is me & Mexx are healthy & happy and as soon as my baby boy looked at me, I realised he doesn’t care if i fit in my old jeans or not .. So I guess creased watermelon PJs & slippers for now it is #bekindtoyourself #newmumclub."
