Everything to Know About Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Netflix Spy Series FUBAR<\/em>

In a newsletter sent to followers Wednesday night, Arnold Schwarzenegger announced a deal with Netflix to acquire an original spy series, FUBAR, starring Arnold himself. (FUBAR is an acronym standing for either “Fucked Up Beyond All Repair” or “Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition”—Schwarzenegger is using both for the series.)

The series was originally developed at Skydance Television and was announced late last year. Created by Nick Santora, the series features a father (Schwarzenegger) who, alongside his daughter (Monica Barbaro), learn they were in fact secret CIA operatives for years, a revelation throwing their relationship into doubt. The international spy thriller will, therefore, also double as a family adventure.

Santora served as writer and producer on the hit show Scorpion and is currently developing Reacher for Amazon, a show based on the popular Jack Reacher book series from Lee Child. FUBAR will be Schwarzenegger’s first scripted television series. (His last season run came in 2017 with NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice.) In the email newsletter, Schwarzenegger told fans about the recent deal:

Schwarzenegger has worked with the indie studio before, partnering with Skydance before to make Terminator: Genisys and Terminator: Dark Fate.

There’s no word yet on release date (Netflix tends to announce these only months in advance), but if production is beginning soon, we may be able to see Arnold play spy sometime in 2022.
