Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams’ Sees Spike In Sales, Streams After Viral Video
A TikTok video that went viral late last week has led to a jump in sales and streams of Fleetwood Mac‘s 1977 hit “Dreams.”
The video shows a man skating along merrily, sipping from a bottle of Ocean Spray Cran-Raspberry juice, and singing along with Stevie Nicks‘ lead vocals.
According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, the song garnered 2.9 million on-demand U.S. streams and 3,000 digital download sales during the three days (from September 25 to 27), going up by 88.7% and 374%, respectively, over the prior three-day periods.
“Dreams,” a classic hit from Fleetwood Mac, is the band’s lone No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song previously saw a sharp jump in sales and streams in 2018 after a meme of Alcorn State University’s Golden Girls dance team grooving to “Dreams” went viral on Twitter.
During the week following the meme’s debut, the track saw a 24% jump in on-demand streams and a 36% increase in download sales.
