Friends actor Matthew Perry confirms engagement to girlfriend Molly Hurwitz

Matthew Perry has confirmed his engagement to girlfriend, Molly Hurwitz.

The Friends actor – who played Chandler Bing in the beloved sitcom – made his relationship official earlier this year.

According to People Magazine, the lovebirds have taken things to the next level.

‘I decided to get engaged,’ the 51-year-old told the publication.

‘Luckily, I happened to be dating the greatest woman on the face of the planet at this time.’

Matthew and Molly, 29, first started dating in 2018, but kept their romance largely out of the spotlight.

Despite this, the literary manager shared an adorable shout-out to her beau on Valentine’s Day, in February.

Uploading a sweet snap of Matthew on her private Instagram page, she wrote: ‘Second year being my valentine, but his first as an Instagram influencer.

‘HVD to my favourite.’

Couple goals or what?

Lifting the lid on their relationship, an insider previously revealed she had been a ‘huge support’ to the 17 Again star.

‘Molly has been seeing Matthew for months, they mix in the same circles and she’s originally from New York where they have spent time together,’ a source told The Sun.

‘She has a very quirky sense of humour and they hit it off immediately.

‘Molly is not interested in fame and she rarely parties, she’s been great for Matthew.’

Before he started seeing Molly, Matthew was in a relationship with Lizzy Caplan for six years, and the former couple split in 2012.

Prior to this, he also publicly dated Julia Roberts and Yasmine Bleeth.

Matthew’s engagement comes after he announced the eagerly-anticipated Friends reunion has a new date.

Sending fans into a spin, he tweeted that it is set to record in March reuniting his co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc for the first time on-screen in years.

‘Friends reunion being rescheduled for the beginning of March,’ he penned.

‘Looks like we have a busy year coming up. And that’s the way I like it!’

The HBO Max special was announced earlier this year but was delayed just weeks later due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Metro.co.uk has contacted Matthew’s reps for a comment.
