‘Friends’ reunion delays filming due to coronavirus

The highly anticipated “Friends” reunion that was meant to shoot next week on Monday and Tuesday has been pushed to at least May, according to multiple reports.

The show was set to be filmed on its former Warner Bros. soundstage but has been delayed to the coronavirus pandemic, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A specific shooting date has not yet been set.

The show’s original cast — Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer— were all set to return for the special.

The reunion is planned to coincide with the launch of the new HBO Max service, where all of the classic comedy’s episodes will become available in May. (The ’90s and early ’00s hit was previously streaming on Netflix.)

Sources told showbiz site Deadline that if a proposed May production date holds, the special would still be ready for the launch of HBO Max.
