Gogglebox star Tom Malone Jr has dished out all the secrets from the fan-favourite show.

The 26 year old, who has been starring on the Channel 4 programme since 2014 for the fourth series, took to his TikTok account to answer burning questions posed by his impressive 699,400 followers.

One person asked him: "How do you get "chosen" for it," to which he replied: "This is actually quite a funny story. So with Gogglebox you can't apply, you have to be scouted.

"So what happened was the casting team went to a dance studio in Manchester and asked if they knew anyone that would be good for the show.

"The owner of the studio suggested me and my mum because I worked there at the time as a dance teacher and mum worked there in reception.

"So they came in the next day – me and my mum had no idea – they said to my mum, 'Are you Julie Malone?' and she said, 'Yeah'. And they said, 'And um, is that Tom?'"

The star, who works as a freelance model and street dance choreographer away from Gogglebox, then explained that he was in the studio behind the reception doing a dance that involved him moving from side to side.

He continued: "So, as you can imagine, I looked like an absolute crazy person. I was actually just trying to work out why my windmill to my head wasn't working correctly. But I looked like an absolute loonpot. But they must have looked at me, looked at my mum and thought, 'These lot are crazy'.

"They got us in to do a test shoot. Met the rest of my family and the rest is history."

When asked whether he gets free takeaway each time he films an episode of the TV show, he explained: "Yes, without a doubt, one of the best perks about Gogglebox is that every time we film, which is twice a week, the crew get us a takeaway of our choosing."

However, he said that the "hardest thing" is choosing where they want to get takeaway from as his father Tom Snr is "picky with food" and loves pie and chips or sausage and mash.

Another fan asked: "Are your sofas actually that close to eachother or is it just so you can all get on the camera?" [sic]

Tom, who recently shared a peak inside his new stylish home with girlfriend Bryony Briscoe, said that the couch his father sits on is pushed forward so they can all fit in the frame. He later explained that the family are not allowed to change their seating arrangement.

"Going back to six and a half years ago when we filmed our first episode of Gogglebox, I think it was season four, we just sat in those positions," he said.

"That was just the natural positions we sat in. That was fine.

"However moving on from then, we were never allowed to change those positions. That's because people don't like change."
