Hardy Drops Rock-Infused New Single ‘Boots’

Hardy has released a rock-infused new single, “Boots,” a song he has been performing during his live shows.

“I’m so glad this song is out in the world,” Hardy shared in a statement. “‘Boots’ is a perfect representation of who I am as an artist. It’s a country lyric but it sounds like a rock and roll song.”

Joey Moi and Derek Wells produced the song, which was written by Hardy along with David Garcia and Hillary Lindsey.

The song, which is about a couple ready to part ways, sees Hardy recalling the events following a night of bad decisions that led to the breakup.

“I woke up in my boots this mornin’ / Fell asleep in my boots last night / Had a feeling that I’d run out of warnings / Girl, I couldn’t have been more right,” Hardy sings in the chorus. “And I knew I wouldn’t have to take the time puttin’ ’em back on when I’m sober / Yeah, I knew you’d be pissed off, over me, and I’d just be hungover … Knew I’d need ’em come the daylight, so I didn’t even take ’em off.”

“Boots” is Hardy’s first new release this year. His previous single, “One Beer,” featuring Lauren Alaina and Devin Dawson, keeps moving higher on country radio.

Hardy released This Ole Boy EP in 2018, and Where to Find Me and Hixtape, Vol. 1 in 2019.

The country star is scheduled to accompany Thomas Rhett on his Center Point Road Tour. The trek has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
