Holly Hagan hits out at stigma against women using Only Fans

‘How does me posing in lingerie affect a job?’ Geordie Shore’s Holly Hagan hits out at stigma against women using sites like OnlyFans and claims brands have REFUSED to work with her

Holly Hagan has hit out at stigma against women using racy sites like Only Fans and Admire Me.

The Geordie Shore star, 28, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share an impassioned speech on the issue, as she reflected on her past as a glamour model and how ’empowering’ it was for her.

After first asking fans for their opinion on the topic in a poll, Holly began: ‘So I’ve been thinking about something for a while now and I think I need to discuss it publicly, and because I have a lot of views on it.

Rant: Geordie Shore’s Holly Hagan hit out at stigma against women using racy sites like Only Fans as she revealed on Wednesday brands have REFUSED to work with her because of it

‘This is in relation to sites to Only Fans and Admire Me and the stigma that comes from being on these sites.

‘I had an Only Fans from back in 2017 and its still active now, I don’t post to it but it’s still there. I have an Admire Me, when Chelsea first launched I created an account on there and the stigma that came from having a post on that site was just ridiculous.’

Detailing how she’d save the few lingerie shots she’d take for the subscription sites, she admitted she ‘found specific brands wouldn’t work with me because I had a profile with these sites.’

Hitting out at the stigma, she went on: ‘It just confused me because I think how does me posing in lingerie in any way affect a job, and it certainly didn’t affect my ability to do the jobs that they were asking me to do.

Candid: Of how brands didn’t want to work with her because she had accounts on the racy sites, she said: ‘It certainly didn’t affect my ability to do the jobs that they were asking me to do’

‘It was just the stigma of having an Only Fans and an Admire Me and it was wrong.

‘I actually glamour modelled for a lot of years, and if those magazines like Nuts and Zoo were still about I would do them because I felt amazing when I did them, it wasn’t the complements I got from other people, it was how I felt in myself.

‘Even someone who was a size 16 like I was when I first started that was never an issue to them or to me it was somewhere that I felt amazing in myself and it empowered me, and not a lot of people can understand that.’

She went on:  ‘I haven’t posted to these sites for a while now, and I certainly haven’t promoted them because I’m engaged, I’m about to get married, I’m at a point where I’m trying to get taken seriously in the fitness industry, and I’m also the ambassador of an anti-bullying charity.

Reflecting: Holly went on ‘I actually glamour modelled for a lot of years, and if those magazines like Nuts and Zoo were still about I would do them because I felt amazing when I did them’

‘But I think why would me posing in underwear affect my ability in any of those areas of my life? And it wouldn’t.

‘I’d give you a few examples, I got paid to do a lingerie post a couple of weeks ago, I posted it on my Instagram, it was up there and I got paid for it and it’s me in lingerie and nobody had anything to say about it.

‘And yet if I’m posting the same things Only Fans on it, or on Admire Me and being paid for it then for some reason that makes me not respectable, not worthy of being a role model, couldn’t possibly be a charity ambassador, it’s the same thing.’

Double standards: Holly hit out, ‘I got paid to do a lingerie post a couple of weeks ago, I posted it on my Instagram… and I got paid for it and it’s me in lingerie and nobody had anything to say’

Holly reflected on current Instagram influencers, and claimed she felt their snaps were far worse than anything she shared on the subscription sites.

‘They’re doing it for free and nobody is saying anything to them because they’re giving that content away for free, but as soon as you start to capitalising on it then all of a sudden you’re a massive s**g.

‘I don’t get it. I just think why can’t I express my sexuality, and be sexy, and also be a fiancee, and also have a goof fitness career, and also be a good charity ambassador, and also be a role model to some people, why can’t I do it all?

Honest: Frustrated by this, she hit out ‘yet if I’m posting the same things Only Fans on it, or on Admire Me and being paid for it then for some reason that makes me not respectable’

Good point: Holly went on, ‘I just think why can’t I express my sexuality, and be sexy, and also be a fiancee, and also have a goof fitness career, and also be a good charity ambassador’

‘I do think god what if I start posting to these sites again and people start messaging to my charity and assuming that I do porn, but then I think even if I did do porn how does that affect my ability to be an anti-bullying ambassador? It doesn’t.’

She concluded: ‘I feel as women we can do everything and just because we want to embrace our sexuality shouldn’t mean we’re incapable of doing all those things, we can do it all.’

Holly left her inbox open for fans to tell her what they thought on the topic, and she answered an array of questions as well as sharing others’ stories.
