Irina Shayk poses in cream lingerie in a throwback snap from 2006 – one year before she shot to worldwide fame

She landed her first high-profile campaign with Intimissimi back in 2007 – and has since become one of the world’s most in-demand models.

And Irina Shayk reflected on her modelling beginnings as she shared a throwback snap from 2006 on Wednesday.

The supermodel, 35, posed in cream lingerie as she struck a pose in a hotel room in the fun throwback.

Irina wore her tresses in a tousled updo and sported eyeliner and a heavy application of lipgloss.

Exuding confidence, the-then 20-year-old  posed with one hand on her hip and another on the door as she worked on her model looks.

The star has come a long way since she was first spotted by a local beauty school and won the Miss Chelyabinsk 2004  beauty pageant.

In 2007, she won several high-profile campaigns and made her debut in Sports Illustrated.

She has since modelled for high-profile brands including Guess, Burberry, Versace and Marc Jacobs and become a modelling icon.

Irina is mother to daughter Lea, four, who she shares with ex Bradley Cooper.    

Bradley and Irina dated for four years from 2015 until 2019.    

And the former couple are making sure that their daughter can speak her mother’s native language as it’s been reported they’ve been taking their daughter Lea to Russian lessons once a week.     

Page Six reports that the child’s language lessons are reportedly part of Bradley and Irina’s custody agreement, which they worked out after their separation in 2019.

The specialist school, located in the Financial District promises ‘complete immersion into the Russian language and culture from an early age by creating fun learning experiences’ to ‘anyone who is interested in preserving their heritage [or] adding a new cultural experience.’

Shayk grew up in the small southwestern town of Yemanzhelinsk in the USSR – now Western Russia. And she moved to the states in 2007 when her modeling career took off.

The duo’s co-parenting plan includes that both of them have to reside in New York City; Cooper’s former residence was in Los Angeles.  

The two have also agreed to split legal and physical custody of their daughter 50/50, although they both understand that their busy work schedules may not mean that one of them will have exactly as much time as the other.

According to TMZ, Shayk and Cooper do not have a formal written agreement, as they remain on good terms and support each other as individuals.

Irina previously spoke to Elle magazine about how she and Bradley operate as parents, setting the record straight on their family life.

She said: ‘I never understood the term co-parenting. When I’m with my daughter, I’m 100 percent a mother, and when she’s with her dad, he’s 100 percent her dad. Co-parenting is parenting.  

Irina also explained why she has always stayed quiet about their bond: ‘My past relationship, it’s something that belongs to me, and it’s private. 

‘It’s just a piece of my inner self that I don’t want to give away.’

The amicable exes have each been spotted out with with Lea in recent weeks, helping each other out as they continue working on their respective projects.
