Saturday Morning chef James Martin, 48, revealed high-profile celebrities have warned him not to speak about his relationship in interviews and urged him to keep his personal life out of the spotlight.
I always keep my public and private life separate
The ITV chef has previously admitted he has never been so happy when it comes to his relationship with Louise Davies, but prefers to enjoy it behind closed doors.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, he said he was warned: “Don’t answer those questions. They all try – but you’ll get nothing.
“I always keep my public and private life separate.
“I’ve met some mega-famous people who’ve told me, ‘If you open that up, you’ve no where to go’.

“One very high-profile person said, ‘Build big gates at home for peace of mind’ and I did, so when I go back home that’s my time’.”
James’ relationship with Louise first emerged publicly in 2016, five years into their relationship.
The pair first met on Celebrity Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? back in 2010.
James is regular user on social media, but mainly shares posts about his recipes and working life.
He has, however, discussed why he isn’t keen on marrying his long-term girlfriend anytime soon in past interviews.
“It doesn’t interest me in the slightest, mainly because I’ve catered for so many weddings, really,” he told The Sunday People.
“I admire people who do it, that’s fine, but I’m quite happy.
“I don’t need to spend 60 grand on a day, no, I’m more than happy thanks.”

James has previously referred to not being married or having children as his “biggest low”.
He told Prima Magazine: “The biggest low of my career is that I’ve given up everything for it.
“I look at my mates and they’re all married with kids, and that’s not the case for me because I’ve been so focused on work.”
In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, he also addressed the strangest rumours he had heard about himself in recent years.

The chef went on to say he believes the rumours were “made up” by a reporter.
Saturday Morning with James Martin continues today at 9.25am on ITV.
