Strictly Come Dancing professional Janette Manrara, 37, and her husband Aljaž Skorjanec, 31, appeared on Loose Women earlier this week. The couple spoke candidly about their marriage as the pair opened up about their future baby plans.

Aljaž said that although he felt strongly about his partner Janette when they first met, her feelings were not mutual.

Loose Women host Jane Moore quizzed the couple who appeared via video link on the ITV show.

She asked: “Am I right in thinking Aljaž, when you first saw Janette you fell madly in love but she took a bit of persuading?

“She thought that you were trouble.”

Janette could be seen with her head in her hands before she looked towards her other half.

Aljaž replied: “It’s not easy being able to have those words come out of my mouth. It’s true. Yes, it’s very true.”

He continued: “From my side, it was love at first sight but from Janette’s side it definitely wasn’t.”

Janette chuckled at her beau’s response but didn’t elaborate any further.

However, the Slovenian-born professional was able to win over his other half as the couple got engaged in 2015 after a whirlwind six-year romance.

The pair had an astonishing three weddings in various locations, including Slovenia and Disneyland, when they married in the summer of 2017.

The Strictly professionals went on to discuss their plans to start a family with the pair admitting “we are more than ready”.

“I have always been looking forward to becoming a mother, I think what I and Aljaž discovered in the first lockdown and being separated, was how much we are a team,” Janette explained.

“And when we do decide to have children in the future, we are more than ready because we really do love and support each other.”

She added: “I think Aljaž is going to be the most incredible dad, that’s a realisation that we had, that when the time is right, we will both be more than ready.”

Janette admitted that their dancing careers were a concern as she expressed financial fears.

The Strictly star commented: “For me and Aljaž, we are a team when it comes to everything in life. Not just our personal lives, but also for work.

“If I all of a sudden fall pregnant, I would want to spend time with my baby, I want to spend time with my child as a mother.

“So that is the scary point, we lose 50 percent of the household income, because we do all of it together, so that’s the only bit that makes it a bit tricky.”

She added: “Physically I think I should hopefully pop right back into dancing and come back in hopefully fast, but those nine months to a year, we just wouldn’t know what was going to happen.”

The couple were forced apart for 77 days while filming separate projects in lockdown, which was the longest time they had ever been without seeing each other.
