Jeff Bridges: The Big Lebowski actor announces lymphoma diagnosis ‘I’m starting treatment’

Jeff Bridges took to Twitter today to reveal that he has been diagnosed with lymphoma. The 70-year-old actor, who is best known for playing Jeffery, aka The Dude, in 1998 movie The Big Lebowski, informed his 307,300 followers that he has started treatment and the prognosis was good.

Referencing his most well known character, Jeff’s tweet began: “As the Dude would say.. New S**T has come to light.”

He went on to say: “I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma.

“Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good.

“I’m starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery.”

Thanking his friends, family and fans for his support the Oscar-winning American star continued: “I’m profoundly grateful for the love and support from my family and friends.

“Thank you for your prayers and well wishes.

“And, while I have you, please remember to go vote. Because we are all in this together.

“Love, Jeff.”
