Jessie Cave gets real honest about breastfeeding struggle after giving birth
Harry Potter star Jessie Cave has got real honest about having another newborn on her hands and admits her breastfeeding struggles have left her feeling like she wants to ‘cry a lot’.
The actress, 33, who played Lavender Brown in the much-loved Harry Potter movies, gave birth to her third baby – a baby boy, who she shares with her partner Alfie Brown – on Thursday.
Since introducing her little one on Instagram, Jessie has been keeping fans updated from her hospital bed and was recently seen opening up about the struggle she’s had breastfeeding her son Abraham.
Jessie took to her Instagram story with adorable new snaps of her bubba, but came over all emotional as she had issues with his milk.
Sharing a picture of half-empty bottles, Jessie wrote: ‘This milk isn’t “good” anymore because he didn’t drink it in time and I want to cry.’
She joked: ‘I will be crying a lot for the foreseeable.’
The star also thanked fans for the support they have shown her since she gave birth, as she shared another post of her son sleeping and said: ‘Thank you for your comments about your neonatal experiences. I can’t respond right now, but they’ve helped me so much and I’ve been so touched.’
Jessie, however, hasn’t been sleeping well, but shrugged off her lack of shut eye while gushing over her new addition.
Alongside a selfie of her resting up while little Abraham slept in a clear cot alongside her, Jessie wrote: ‘No proper sleep now since last Tuesday when I was induced…. but I don’t care, I don’t care, I can see him, I can see him.’
It comes after Jessie recalled the ‘scary first night alone together’ she had with her baby son, who was born within just 40 minutes, in hospital.
‘He’s now downstairs and missing a few wires! 💛💛💛💛💛💛 Can’t quite go home but embracing this moment of joy after a scary first night alone together where I felt completely inadequate, inept and unsure,’ she penned.
‘Zero sleep, 3 other babies screaming alongside mine. Needless to say this experience amid the Covid restrictions has been really weird and traumatic.
‘My love @alfiebrowncomedian has been back and forth delivering me coffees (DECAF DON’T PANIC!) and flannels. 🥛 thank you for all the messages of support and sharing of your neonatal experiences…. I have learnt so much.’
Jessie announced she was expecting again in June. She is already mum to six-year-old Donnie and three-year-old Margot.
Jessie had first met her partner Alfie in 2012 and a few years later they went on a date, with said date resulting in a one-night-stand and Jessie discovering she was pregnant.
‘I came to the decision that I was very lucky to be having his baby,’ she previously said of her first pregnancy. ‘And that whatever he was going to say to me, I would be OK.’
