Judi Love supports Tilly Ramsay after cruel comments about her weight

Loose Women star Judi Love has spoken out about cruel comments made towards her Strictly Come Dancing costar, Tilly Ramsay.

Writing in her OK! this week, Judi, 41, said she is "proud" of Tilly, 19, for speaking up for herself. She added: "I’ve experienced fat shaming online and I know how hard it is to deal with." Read her column in full below…

It was supposed to be such a busy week last week with Strictly training and other commitments, but sadly everything changed as I tested positive for Covid.

I experienced cold-like symptoms and took a test, and was upset to see it came back positive. At the time of writing this, I’m feeling lethargic and achy. I was shocked but this reminded me how important it is to test and socially distance.

Graz [Graziano Di Prima] has been so supportive and I’m happy to hear he has tested negative. I was also worried for my children, but they’ve also tested negative. I’m heartbroken as I’d been training so hard.

My team, everyone at Strictly and my wonderful family have been an amazing support.

Happy for Kourtney

Last week, Kourtney Kardashian announced her engagement to Travis Barker, which was lovely news. It’s important to remember that we can always have a fresh start in life. Kourtney had a long-term partner with whom she shares kids, but she’s moved on and found a special love.

There’s been some comments about her moving quickly as they only started dating recently. But I think you get to a certain age and you know what you want, so just go for it. Congrats, Kourtney!

All shapes are sexy

Also last week, my Strictly co-star Tilly Ramsay spoke out after LBC radio host Steve Allen referenced her weight on his morning show. I’m shocked that Steve would make such a cruel comment. I’ve experienced fat shaming online and I know how hard it is to deal with.

I’m proud of Tilly for speaking up for herself and calling him out – at 19, she’s shown far more maturity than him. We have all stood behind Tilly and sent her love.

I had a reporter ask me whether losing a bit of weight made me feel more sexy and I told him that losing weight doesn’t equate to sexiness. We need to shake off this image of what is beautiful and sexy and realise
that all shapes and sizes are sexy.

Celebrating the Kabs

We’ve got a lot of Black talent in the UK who venture out to the US and get great success, like the Kabs Family, who’ve built a huge following online.

Last week, they were interviewed by Steve Harvey, who is massive in the Black community. I was so proud of them and thought it was a brilliant example of a young family who’ve made a career for themselves on their own terms and are smashing life.

Queen stepping back

The Queen cancelled a trip to Northern Ireland after medical professionals told her to rest and she subsequently spent a night in hospital.

She’s such a strong matriarch that we sometimes forget she’s also a 95-year-old lady who needs to take it easy. I hope she gets the rest she needs.

It’s also a reminder to all matriarchs of families out there to look after themselves and take breaks when you need to.
