Kacey Musgraves To Make Voice Acting Debut In English Version Of ‘Earwig And The Witch’

Kacey Musgraves will lend her voice to the English version of Studio Ghibli’s forthcoming animated film Earwig and the Witch.

The six-time Grammy Award winner will make her debut voice acting role as Earwig’s mother.

Musgraves will also perform the English version of the film’s theme song “Don’t Disturb Me.”

Richard E. Grant will voice The Mandrake, while Dan Stevens will lend his voice for the character Thomas.

Kacey shared her joy on Twitter, saying, “My all-time biggest heart dream came true Folded hands.”

“Thank you Studio Ghibli for having me sing & voice a part in your new movie. Can’t wait for everybody to see this one. Coming early 2021,” the country music singer tweeted.

Distributor GKIDS has scheduled to release the film, directed by Goro Miyazaki, in North America during early 2021. In the U.K., Elysian will release the film in theaters in Spring 2021.
