Kanye West Documentary Reportedly Bought By Netflix For $30 Million
Online streaming giant Netflix has reportedly acquired a documentary on Kanye West for $30 million.
The documentary series spans over two decades of footage and home videos of Kanye’s life. It will cover the rapper’s career in music and fashion, his failed 2020 presidential bid, and the death of his mother, Donda West.
Billboard, which first reported the news, says Netflix acquired the yet-to-be titled project from TIME Studios and Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah, popularly known as Coodie & Chike.
Coodie & Chike directed two of West’s first videos, “Through the Wire” and the third version of “Jesus Walks.”
The series is expected to be released later this year.
