Kym Marsh has insisted she won't let her nine-year old daughter Polly join social media until she feels she's old enough.

The Morning Live presenter opened up in her column with OK! after Nicole Kidman said she was stopping her young daughters from joining the popular app.

Kym insisted: "Nicole Kidman revealed last week that she wasn’t keen for her daughters, Sunday, 12, and Faith, nine, to be on social media. She said her girls were 'chomping at the bit' to join but she was reluctant to let them as she can’t easily monitor technology.

"I have to say that I agree. Instagram’s age restriction is 13 and older and I believe that’s there for a reason. Polly’s dad and I always say we don’t want her joining social media until she’s old enough – and even then I’d want her to be private and only follow friends and family."

The former Coronation Street star added: "There’s so much content on the internet that children see nowadays.

"They’re exposed to so much and as a parent it can feel hard to censor it all and or keep them safe which is so worrying."

Kym has recently been hosting the new show Morning Live alongside co-host Gethin Jones.

The star heartbreakingly revealed recently how some people avoided going to her son Archie’s funeral because they "couldn’t cope".

The 44 year candidly opened up about the loss of her son Archie, who was born 18 weeks premature and died moments after his birth.

Kym spoke with Gethin and Reverend Kate Bottley about grief and death, which received praise after its launch earlier this week.

Kym, who recently revealed she dream texted Craig David, candidly said: “I’ve got personal experience as well, when I lost my son Archie 11 years ago now.

“I lost him very late on in my pregnancy. I personally didn’t want to talk about it, initially, because I felt that if I talked about it, it would be real and it was almost like I hadn’t got to the point where I was accepting anything yet.

“But, equally I found that people didn’t know what to say to me or how to talk to me so therefore avoided that completely.”

Kym then heartbreakingly revealed: “And some people didn’t want to come to his funeral because they felt they just couldn’t cope with going to such a small baby’s funeral – they felt that quite… they felt it was a difficult thing for them.
