Lisa George urged to ‘stay strong’ after ‘painful’ injury sparks Dancing On Ice concerns

Coronation Street star Lisa George, 47, is currently competing on Dancing on Ice 2020. But after suffering a fall in rehearsals – is her future on the show in doubt?

The actress took to Instagram yesterday to show her 50,000 Instagram followers her injured knee.

Lisa was seen laying on her back with a large bag of ice placed on her leg.

She wrote: “Sooo… today toe picked and took quite a bit of a fall on my knee… painful!

“Training got cancelled and headed to Birmingham for physio but I’m still gonna have a go and see what I can manage on Thursday at training. #dontgiveup #dancingonice.”(sic)

Lisa shared further details about her injury in an uploaded video.

“I’m finally home, I’m laid on my bed, I have got an ice and compression machine on my leg.

“So yeah, I’ve got to sit here for 20 minutes with it on,” she said in the short clip.

The soap told her followers that she had a torn meniscus.

The meniscus is a disc-like piece of cartilage in the knee which acts as a shock absorber between your shinbone and thighbone.

Lisa thanked her physio in her post and signed off: “Hopefully it should be ok so I can finally train on Thursday and learn my new routine for the show this weekend #teamlisa #dancingonice.”

Her professional partner headed straight to the comments section to wish her a speedy recovery.

He said: “Rest up and feel better! Will see you ready for Thursday!.”
