A look at celebrity whirlwind romances as Sheridan Smith says yes to Tinder beau

Just get me to the church in double-quick time is the rule of engagement in the latest celebrity love matches.

Love Island host Caroline Flack, 37, got engaged to Apprentice contender Andrew Brady, 27, after three months of dating.

And actress Sheridan Smith, 36, has said yes to her Tinder crush Jamie Horn, 28, again just three months after they began seeing each other.

Sheridan is head-over-heels in love and Jamie proposed with a £10,000 sparkler.

They will not be the first celebrities to wed after a whirlwind romance.

For richer, for poorer, in quickness and in health… they might live to regret it like some of these celebs.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes

The Top Gun star had everyone cringing when he jumped on Oprah Winfrey’s sofa to declare his love for Katie.

The superstar, her childhood crush, popped the question in 2005 after just six weeks.

Baby Suri was born 10 months later and the couple appeared to have it all, marrying in November 2006.

But they shocked the world when they called it quits in 2012.

Katie Price and Kieran Hayler

Katie said yes to ex-stripper Kieran’s proposal just two months after they met – and a medium told Katie she would marry a man called, erm Kevin.

They wed just a month later in January 2013 in Barbados, with Katie’s best friend Jane Poutney as maid of honour.

Just over a year later, Katie discovered Jane and Kieran were having an affair.

Despite Katie revealing plans to divorce last year, the couple are still married five years on.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline

The singer wed dancer Kevin despite accusations he was a “gold digger”.

They had two sons but divorced in July 2007. To say Britney was on the rebound before Federline is an understatement.

She had flown childhood pal Jason Alexander on a private jet to Vegas on New Year’s Eve 2003.

They exchanged vows in the Little White Wedding Chapel, with Britney sporting a baseball cap and a bare midriff.

Her mum and management went crazy and it was annulled after just 55 hours.

Cheryl Cole and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini

The Geordie singer and French restaurant owner met at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014 and tied the knot just 12 weeks later in a romantic ceremony on the exclusive island of Mustique.

Even French wasn’t a barrier with Cheryl saying: “I understand a lot more than I speak.”

But cracks started to show and they split at the end of 2015, divorcing 10 months later. Cheryl blamed his “unreasonable behaviour” claiming it caused her “stress and weight loss”.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand

The loudmouth comedian proposed on New Year’s Eve 2009 opposite a tiger sanctuary in India. True love didn’t last.

Later Katy said: “He hasn’t spoken to me since he texted saying he was filing for divorce”.

Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford

The Hollywood actress and the singer have two children together and just celebrated their sixth anniversary.

But they were childhood pen pals who lost touch. Awwww.

Kerry Katona and Mark Croft

The former Atomic Kitten singer said Yes to cabbie Mark Croft and eloped to wed in Gretna Green in February 2007.

Their daughter Heidi was born just days later.

Despite going on to have son Max together, the pair’s relationship was doomed. Kerry later admitted she was still in love with first husband, singer Brian McFadden, at the time she became engaged to Mark.

Julia Roberts and Lyle Lovett

The movie queen and country singer eloped in June 1993 during a weekend off while the actress was filming The Pelican Brief.

They divorced after 21 months saying “career demands” meant they rarelysaw each other.

Mark was later convicted of running a cannabis farm in his loft.

The couple divorced in 2011 after four short years of marriage.

Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney

The Bridget Jones star met the country singer in January 2005. Renee blamed the marriage flop on “fraud”, leading to speculation Kenny was gay, which he denied.
