Love Island’s Dr Alex George warns against having sex with new partners amid coronavirus crisis

Dr Alex George has warned people against having sex with new partners as he discussed the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The 29 year old, who works in A&E, has continuously been updating fans on advice surrounding the illness — which has infected over 22,000 people in the UK so far.

But the former Love Island star has bad news for people who have met new lovers during the self-isolation period, as he claims it is too risky to have sex with a new partner.

Giving an interview on BBC's Newsbeat, Alex has now opened up on how peoples' sex lives are affecting the rise of the deadly bug.

He said: "If you're in a relationship… living with that person, and sharing the same environment, it shouldn't change your situation.

"However if one of you is displaying symptoms of coronavirus then you should maintain your social-distancing and isolate, even within your home.

"In an ideal world everyone would stay two metres apart — even in their own house, but we realise this may not be realistic.

"I certainly wouldn't advise having new sexual partners at the moment, because the risk is you could pass on the virus.

"If you've kissed or been in contact with someone who you think has gone on to develop coronavirus, make sure you self-isolate."

Alex was recently left emotional after sharing an adorable drawing made by a little girl who wanted to thank the NHS staff amid the coronavirus pandemic.

He took a break from working tirelessly to combat the bug to post a photo of the child's artwork on his Instagram page.

Emma, the artist, showed off her growing talents by drawing Alex in his signature blue uniform, complete with a stethoscope around his neck.

Touched by the gesture he captioned the post: "This was made by a lovely little girl who wanted to say thank you to NHS staff for their fight against the coronavirus," with a blue heart emoji.

"Needless to say I have been sobbing away at how cute this is," he continued with a crying emoji, before adding: "We are in this together. Lets do this [sic]".

He ended it by thanking the child as he said: "Thank you little Emma this has made my day x".
