Married At First Sight star Luke Dawson has revealed he sought advice from his cast mates Matt Jameson and Daniel McKee, which didn't make the final cut of the show.

Luke, 36, revealed he has a very close bond with charity worker Matt, 39, which began after they helped one another calm their nerves ahead of their weddings.

"I really got friendly with Matt off camera," Luke told OK! "We were all in a hotel together and we were all going off one by one to the weddings and me and Matt were, he was my bestie, and we were all supporting each other when the boys were going off one by one."

Luke and Matt's close bond continued throughout the experiment and the Welsh lad revealed to OK! that he leant on Matt for advice.

One particular occasion saw Luke going to Matt and husband Dan for support after feeling "really low".

Luke recalled: "I remember that specifically one day I overheard a conversation and I was quite upset – it was the producers, not the cast.

"And, I got quite upset, Morag was off filming and I just went into Dan and Matt's room and was like: 'Look guys what am I doing?', you know, 'How am I coming across?'. And I just remember them sitting me down and giving me a cup of tea.

"And they were like: 'Luke, just keep being you. You're a nice guy, just continue being yourself' and I remember that because I really felt low that day."

Matt and Luke's close bond gives viewers a clearer view on why Matt voiced his strong opinions on the Welshman's marriage to Morag Crichton.

On Tuesday 28 September's episode, fans saw Matt have a tense conversation with Morag, 31, over her treatment of Luke.

During the dinner party, Matt asked Morag: "Why wasn’t the old Luke good enough for you?"

Now, Luke has also revealed to OK! he agreed with the points Matt was making during the dinner party.

When asked if Luke agreed with Matt's comments, Luke replied: "Yes. Again, I can't say too much but yes a definitely agreed with him."

Luke added that he said "a lot more" than what was shown in the episode, but with so much drama to choose from, producers have to decide on the best bits to air.

He added: "There were times during all this where I do say a lot more and stick up for myself a lot more but it hasn't kind of made it in, which is fine because I know there's a narrative and stuff.

"I was always nice, like, I was always humble. But I was always fighting for Morag, I always wanted to value her as my wife and have her back, regardless, if she was struggling my first response was to look after her before I look after myself.

"And, during the last dinner party I valued Matt's words. Me and Matt were really close and we still are now – spoiler alert, we're really close now!

"I always valued his opinion, I always listened but Matt wasn't the only one saying it. So the whole time it was always in the back of my head. But, it was very hard because you're trying to work everyone out and my focus was purely Morag."

When asked if he put the relationship before himself Luke added: "I think I did. I made too many compromises at times and, yeah, probably over-sacrificed myself for Morag and the relationship."

But, viewers will have to stay tuned to find out if the pair are still together…
