‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Ends Series With Coulson Doing This

Tonight, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. wrapped up seven years on the air and showed fans just where all the characters ended up at.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe series wrapped up a lot of storylines that were still open on the show, including just what happened to Phil Coulson, where Fitz and Simmons ended up and more.

The official summary for the final episode read: With their backs against the wall and Nathaniel and Sibyl edging ever closer to eliminating S.H.I.E.L.D. from the history books, the agents must rely on their strengths to outsmart and outlast the Chronicoms.

This is their most important fight, and it will take the help of friends and teammates, past and present, to survive.

Deke discovered a way to return the team to the original timeline after they created a brand new one in the week before, and with doing that, would take the Chronicoms with them. This also meant that Fitz and Simmons’ grandson had to stay behind in order for the plan to work.

Meanwhile, Coulson, May, Daisy and the others took out the Chronicom ships while Fitz helped Jemma with regaining her memories.

In a montage, Fitz shared just how their whole plan to beat the Chromaicons came about, which started when Enoch saved them and Flint rebuilding part of the Monolith stone. It also revealed a period of lost years where Fitz, Simmons, and Enoch built their time machine — and Coulson’s LMD.

Though, to return to the original timeline, Jemma had to give up her memories of them, which included having a daughter named Alya in them.

The final face off with the Chromicons came and Kora was rescued, and in the final scene, the gang virtually reunited a year later, and fans got to see where everyone ended up at.

Fitz and Simmons left S.H.I.E.L.D. to raise their daughter; Mack continued on as Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., complete with helicarrier, and Melinda took a teaching position at the newly-minted Coulson Academy; Yo-Yo and Daisy continued to be active SHIELD agents, taking on missions around the world and around the galaxy.

As for Coulson, he finally took time for himself and traveled the world. In the final shot, he was seen hopping into a brand new version of L.O.L.A. and flying off into the distance.
