Bobby was famous for being one half of the comedy duo with Tommy Cannon.

He had also appeared on reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! back in 2005.

Michelle shared: “This picture from our wedding party last year sums up our friendship beautifully.

“I’m going to miss our laughs you funny man and I feel lucky to have had you in my life. Rest in peace Bobby.”

Underneath fans also shared their condolences, as they praised his ability to make people laugh.

One said: “So sad, seen him so many times: Skeggy, Blackpool, Bradford pantomime a true star ( I always joke laugh me laugh would be my funeral song ).”(sic)

Another replied: “It’s always sad when a friend passes, however when it’s someone who made people laugh as much as Bobby did it stings just that bit more. Thinking of all of you.”

A third commented: “Bless his heart. RIP Beautiful man X.”

Bobby’s manager Phil Dale announced “with great personal sadness” that the comedy actor died at Blackpool Victoria Hospital yesterday evening.

He said Bobby was admitted for tests due to breathing problems.

“At first it was thought to be a chest infection but a test proved positive for Covid-19,” he said in a statement.

“His wife Yvonne said the hospital and staff could not have been more wonderful, as they were outstanding in their care of duty and they did everything possible for him and she cannot praise them enough.
