Mourinho had a perfect description for the ‘fight’ between Pogba and Noble

Thank heavens for Paul Pogba and Mark Noble, eh?

The pair provided pretty much the only moment of entertainment during the drab goalless draw between West Ham and Manchester United at the London Stadium on Thursday night, as they went head-to-head in what, let’s face it, was a fairly amusing fight.

Noble reacted badly to a late challenge put in by Pogba on one of his teammates, racing up to Pogba and throwing his arms around his neck – not in a very friendly way.

Or was it?

Because according to United manager Jose Mourinho, the pair were actually exchanging very friendly glances.

Very, very friendly ones.

"I was watching images and Paul and Noble looked in love," joked Mourinho after the game.

"Hugs and kisses at the end so that was good."

Mourinho also defended his team, who confirmed that they will finish the season in second with the point.

"We are the second best team in the Premier League, a fantastic competition with lots of good teams with six teams trying to finish first," he said.

"We came second, I am not totally happy – that is not my nature. But since the moment we felt it was impossible to finish first we had the target to finish second and it is done today.

"I am not critical of the performance at all.

Against Brighton, at half-time I told the players they were going to lose and tonight at half-time I said we would win. I was wrong but we were positive in the game. In the 80th minute we know that a point was enough so we start thinking about that and we let the game go.

But mosy people were still thinking about about the Pogba-Noble incident though, and social media loved it.
