Peter Andre has hit out after Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague called Italian food “shocking.”

The dad-of-four wasn’t too happy about Molly’s view of Italian food, which she complained about after a trip to Venice.

Writing in his column for new magazine, Peter, who was recently seen filming for his new movie, said: “How can Italian food be shocking in the place it originated from?"

He continued: “For me, Italian food is the best. I love the food in Venice and when I went to Rome the food was incredible.

"I love my pasta al dente and that’s exactly how it should be."

However, despite disagreeing with Molly’s views, Mysterious Girl singer Peter went on to say there was no bad blood between himself and the young star.

The blonde bombshell wrote on Instagram at the time: “One thing I will say about Italy in general… the food is actually shocking?

"So controversial I know but I've been a lot of times now to different parts and I've tried a lot of different restaurants and I'm always so disappointed.

"It's meant to be the home of pizza and pasta and I really can't see how! Strange. Even this ice cream was grim."

She confessed later that she'd received a fair bit of backlash for her honest review, and apologised but said she was remaining firm.

"My DMs are going wild with this Italy food thing," she began.

"Sorry if I've offended anyone it's just my experience and everyone's like: "You've only tried the touristy restaurants", and no, I've actually tried all different kinds – like rural restaurants."

The influencer continued: "I was recommended to go to all these traditional Italian restaurants that are meant to serve the best pizza and pasta and again I just wasn't impressed.

"And it's not me being ungrateful, I've had the best time it's just my experience with the food."
