Phillip Schofield says daughter Molly knew Stacey Solomon would choose floral baby name

Phillip Schofield has revealed that his daughter Molly knew Stacey Solomon would choose a pretty floral name for her newborn daughter.

On Tuesday evening, Loose Women panellist Stacey, 32, delighted fans as she shared the name of her newborn baby daughter as Rose Opal Esmè Solomon-Swash.

And discussing the name with co-host Holly Willoughby on Wednesday's instalment of This Morning, the 59 year old spoke of his daughter Molly, 28, who is Stacey's talent manager.

The television personality said: "My Molly looks after Stacey, and we knew she had the baby, so we were keeping all that quiet."

Phil added: "She [Molly] said, 'I think she might be going for a flower name.'"

The TV star added that his whole family began sending in guesses as to what the newborn's name would be.

"I went for Clematis or Hydrangea," Phil joked to a giggling Holly.

Stacey gave birth to her daughter on Monday 4 October, which was also her 32nd birthday, but revealed the name over a week later.

In an adorable post, she wrote: "Rose Opal, Esmè Solomon-Swash. Our beautiful flower – Our precious jewel – who is ever loved.

"It's been the most magical week. We love you to the moon and back our little Rose. We feel so so lucky to have you here…"

The mum-of-four continued: "Thank you all for your loveliness, your kindness and just being there at 3am for a chat it's been the best. Love you all."

Alongside the announcement, Stacey shared two pictures of her daughter next to a pink rose and the little tot was dressed in a matching onesie as she lay soundly sleeping on white sheets.

It comes after the Loose Women star revealed she was looking at baby name books for inspiration, as well as being open to suggestions from fans.

She wrote on Instagram: "Good morning. Toes up from pickle this morning…. She's got mummy's toes I've never felt so proud.

"All of the boys are in school today. So Joe and me are going to spend the day getting the baby name books out and hopefully find out what her name is. Any ideas welcome…. I love hearing ideas for names, my mind is completely blank.

"Hope you have the best day. Lots of love from us."

However, fans are convinced she dropped hints about her baby daughter's name a week before the sweet announcement.

In a post shared to her Story Highlight, Stacey wrote, "Our Girl," alongside two rose emojis.
