Former cricketer Kevin Pietersen, 40, couldn’t resist taking a humorous swipe at Piers Morgan, 55, as he returned to Twitter after being temporarily blocked for threatening to slap Piers during a flippant exchange between the pair.

Last night, the cricketer shared a video of Piers smiling for a photographer outside the Cambio de Tercio restaurant.

He could be heard calling the presenter an “embarrassment”, to which Piers laughed off as he continued to be pictured.

The pair enjoyed an evening out together with Piers’ wife Celia Walden and Kevin’s partner Jessica Taylor.

Kevin shared the video on his Twitter page with the caption: “I mean, who brings their own photographer to our dinner?!

“Jess, Celia & I just wanted an, ‘under the radar’ dinner! [Nauseated face emoji] cc @piersmorgan.”

Piers hit back at Kevin, writing: “It’s not my fault the paparazzi have no idea who you are!”

Kevin also shared the video on his Instagram story with the caption: “Embarrassing.”

The presenter joked it was more “embarrassing” that the photographer didn’t know who Kevin was.

Ahead of this, Piers shared a picture of himself, Kevin and another companion standing outside the restaurant at a social distance.

He wrote: “So nice to be back at London’s best restaurant Cambio de Tercio after many months.

“Still fabulous food, delicious wine & exceptional service. Shame about Kevin but you can’t have everything in life. Thanks to Abel & the brilliant staff.”

The pair’s evening out comes after Kevin was blocked from Twitter after he jokingly threatened to slap Piers.

Piers and Kevin clashed about whether or not pubs and restaurants should open ahead of their reopening yesterday.

The Good Morning Britain was stunned that the Government decided to allow pubs to reopen despite the continuous threat of coronavirus.

Kevin’s account was blocked for apparently violating Twitter’s rules against abuse and harassment.

In a tweet which Piers acknowledged as a joke, the cricketer wrote: “@piersmorgan I slap you when I see you! That won’t be nonsense!”

A screenshot of Twitter’s explanation read: “You may not engage in the targeted harassment of someone… This includes wishing or hoping that someone experiences physical harm.”

Reacting to this, the Good Morning Britain host tweeted: “BREAKING: Kevin Pietersen suspended from Twitter for threatening to slap me.

“Amusing though this is, it was an obvious joke and a) I don’t feel remotely harassed b) he can’t slap his way out of a paper bag.

“So, please reinstate him ⁦@TwitterUK – this is ridiculous.”
