Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of “disrespecting” the Queen after they urged the Commonwealth to “acknowledge the past”.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down for their roles as senior royals earlier this year, appeared on a video call to discuss equal rights with young leaders from the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, which the couple are president and vice-president of.
Speaking from their home in Los Angeles, California, which is said to be owned by Tyler Perry, 35 year old Harry explained: “When you look across the Commonwealth, there is no way that we can move forward unless we acknowledge the past.
“And I think so many people have done such an amazing, incredible job of acknowledging the past and trying to right those wrongs, but I think we all acknowledge there is so much more still to do.

“It’s not going to be easy and in some cases it’s not going to be comfortable but it needs to be done, because guess what, everybody benefits.”
And Meghan, 38, added: “We have to, at this time, going to have to say: ‘We have to be a little uncomfortable right now,’ because it’s only in pushing through that discomfort that we get to the other side of this and find the place where a high tide raises all ships.
“Equality does not put anyone on the back foot, it puts us all on the same footing – which is a fundamental human right.”
After the comments were made, royal commentator Robert Jobson has slammed the couple, who’s son Archie reportedly just started walking.
He told talkRADIO: “I think that to criticise the Queen's life work is disrespectful.
“I don't know who is pulling the strings but I have an idea here… I think that Meghan Markle doesn't understand the Commonwealth.
“Harry is frankly just picking bits out that he wants to. It's very easy to criticise something that has, actually, done a lot of good over the years and from a distance in a millionaire's mansion.”
He added: “I really do think that they should think very carefully before criticising and asking the British public to apologise again for our behaviour in the Commonwealth.”

Meanwhile, Dan, 37, also claimed Meghan and Harry had pursued a “brazen and outrageous attack” on the Commonwealth.
He urged: “The Queen should now strip Harry and Meghan of their royal titles.
“Their brazen ad outrageous attack on the Commonwealth as president and vice-president of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust is only a step too far.”
Meanwhile, commentator Eleanor Penny defended the couple as she said: “I’m not sure it’s fair to say that Harry and Meghan are creating a problem, they are just pointing at one who already exists.”
