Robbie Williams Has Been Trolling His Next Door Neighbor Jimmy Page For Years
Ever wonder what erstwhile sloppy horn-dog Robbie Williams has been up to? Yeah, me neither. That is until I learned what he’s been up to, then I thought, I should have been wondering about what Robbie Williams is up to this whole time! Turns out Robbie’s been a busy boy. He’s got a new album in the works, he’s starting a residency in Las Vegas in March, he’s a judge on The X-Factor UK with his wife (yes, miraculously he’s still married!), and he’s a spokesperson for WW (Weight Watchers). But he’s also been a bad boy. Robbie’s been spending his free time trolling his next door neighbor, Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, with whom he’s been embroiled in a 5-year-long neighbor dispute. Robbie’s been blasting Pink Floyd whenever he sees Jimmy out on his lawn and sometimes even parades around dressed up as Robert Plant. Oh Robbie, you adorable nutter. Never change!
According to the Independent, the dispute stems from Robbie’s plans to build an underground swimming pool on his West London property. Robbie has an old house, it’s listed as “Grade II”, meaning it is architecturally significant. However, Jimmy’s house next door is listed as “Grade I”, meaning it’s of “exceptional” interest. Jimmy’s afraid that the construction at Robbie’s will endanger his older, more important house. After 5 years of going back and forth, Robbie’s plans were conditionally approved but then somebody snitched. Somebody wrote a letter to the planning council that read:
“The committee may not have been aware that Robbie Williams has been playing loud 1970s rock music on outside speakers when he views Jimmy Page outside his home,” the local resident, known only as Johnny, wrote. “What’s been most annoying is that Mr Williams has played rock arch rival bands Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd and Deep Purple.”
He also reportedly dressed as Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant, wearing a long wig and stuffing a pillow up his shirt.
I guess the WW is working. There was a time not so long ago he wouldn’t have needed the pillow. Poor Jimmy. Robbie ain’t right for that. Jimmy’s owned the crown jewel of Gothic Revival architecture, The Tower House (yes, his house is so significant it has its own Wikipedia page, and it’s longer than Robbie’s), since 1972!
And this is his neighbor.
Can’t he afford a YMCA membership and go swim in their pool? Well, I guess that’s new money for you.
